Dear BX,
I live in Maine and I always struggle with finding snow boots that do the job, but are stylish, too. Any ideas?
Cara W.
We feel your pain! Living in a cold weather climate can definitely limit your options when it comes to finding pieces that are functional, yet fashionable. No worries, though, because this season there’s tons of great boots that will keep you snow bunnies styling.
A few hints: Stay away from UGGs or any boot that is low to the ground and easy for water to seep into. Also, light colored snow boots will always look newer because dark colored boots emphasize messy snow and salt stains.
Here are a few great picks to get you started:
The North Face Nuptse’ Knee High Boots ($169.95)
The outsole has temperature sensitive snowflake lugs to keep you safe on icy surfaces, and the knee-high length will keep you in on the season’s biggest boot craze.
Hunter Welly Boots ($115)
Made for the rain, awesome for the snow. The socks come separately, but they’re definitely worth it to keep your feet toasty and your look changing. Don’t be afraid to mix and match bright colored socks no matter what color your boot is.
Juicy Couture Igloo Wedge Boots ($195)
The faux fur lined front and lace up pom poms shows their playful side, but the rubber wedge with traction shows they mean business.
Good luck!
