Ever wish your electronic accessories could reflect your feminine style?  Now you can get blinged-out ‘buds with chicBuds retractable earphones featuring Swarovski crystals.

Entrepreneurs Nikki Gutshall and Kailynn Bowling created the company chicBuds after recognizing that nearly 85 percent of all electronic purchases are made by women, yet there are limited products catered to the demographic. Their solution came in the form of pretty – yet functional – electronics accessories including earbuds, headphones, iPod cases, Bluetooth headsets and more.

The brand’s classic chicBuds earphones ($49) are available in black or white, adorned with Swarovski crystals in the “flavor” of your choice:  grape (purple), blueberry (blue), watermelon (pink), marshmallow (white/clear) and sour apple (green).  The company says these earphones are “a deliciously-stylish experience” (though the packaging warns against eating them).

Beyond the sparkly exterior, these ‘buds also have crystal-clear sound quality. After testing the white “watermelon” chicBuds, it was obvious that the sound and overall volume was superior to the off-the-shelf iPhone earbuds we’d been using. A belt clip keeps them nice and secure if you want to keep them on in between listening sessions. What’s more, a built-in retractable extension cord makes this little accessory a snap to store in any purse without getting wires tangled.  But pay close attention to the directions – you must pull wires from both ends at the same time to avoid a snarled mess of cords that will need to be rewound.
