Almost every culture has a tradition when it comes to lucky or protective charms, amulets and signs. Once simple symbols of folklore, these cultural traditions have become stylish trends. We have found some of our favorite lucky or protective charms. What are yours?
1. 14k White Gold Diamond Hamsa Pendant
Worn by the cast members of The Hills (the one they actually wore was a tad over our price range), Hamsa jewelry is all the rage. Also known as the Hand of Fatima, the Hamsa is believed to protect against the evil eye. This white gold pendant is available on Overstock.com for just $74.98.
2. Sterling Silver Charm Pendant
For a little luck of the Irish, slip this darling sterling silver four-leaf clover charm onto a necklace or bracelet. The black backing nicely offsets the beautiful green color of the clover. You can buy this lucky charm for just $20 online at Super Lucky Charms.

3. Camel Velvet Evil Eye Wrap Bracelet
Similar to the Hamsa, the Evil Eye charms are meant to ward off jealousy and negative people. Common in Mediterranean and surrounding cultures, their popularity has brought them to the United States. A variety of Evil Eye inspired jewelry is available on Love&Lucky. These velvet wrap bracelets (available in a variety of colors) sell for $6.99 each.
4. Gold Dipped Wishbone
In our family, we always fought for the Turkey’s wishbone during Thanksgiving. We loved to try to get the bigger half, thus granting our heart’s desires. This dainty necklace from Dogeared.com has a gold dipped wishbone charm on silk thread. When the necklace wears through, your wish comes true. For just $30, we plan on wishing for something big.
