Foot Fetish Friday: Are Sketchers Shape Ups a Schwing! Or a Miss?

Who wouldn’t love a quick fix for getting in shape? We’re sure that’s what Sketchers had in mind when launching theĀ Sketchers Shape Ups fitness shoes, which promise to help you “get in shape without setting foot in a gym.” According to the brand, Shape Ups feature a soft “kinetic” wedge insert and a rolling bottom sole that simulate the experience of walking in soft sand, toning your muscles with each step. While they may help you shape up, as a fashion statement, should Sketchers Shape Ups ship out?

I was shopping at DSW in Dec., 2009, Cold and snowy. I saw these really perfect boots, short ,but not too short, tryed them on felt fabulous, and fashoinable. Thet were Reebock Shape Up's. I bought a "regular pair of white "Shape-Up" "athletic shoe after talking W/ uncommissioned sales clerk."she said, after someone purchases one pair of "Shape Up's,usually came back and ought another pair.

I loved the boots wore them daily,snow/cold weather, they exceeded my expectations. Not only the cofort but, I noticed my tuumy firmed up,noticed my snug jeans just fit perfectly. My bottom also firmed up.I'm 59, slender, but needed to firm up.When I checked myself out in mirror, 4 weeks after wearing boots, also would wear "Shape up shoes around the house for an hour -1 1/2 hrs.each day . I looked toned ,firm, unbelievable! The price was a little scary at first, They were well worth the investment. I'm very happy I invested in myself, and "Shape-ups"truely work. I recommended them to freinds who also had, similar results. Thank You Reebock! MB

  2. While I don't doubt the technology behind these shoes, I wonder if the Sketcher's brand are not just a knock off of MBT's and therefore don't have the same benefits of the real McCoy.

I have similar shoes and while they look a little ortho, they really help strengthen weak joints. I suppose they could strengthen your tuckus, but I haven't gotten that far yet….
