How do you fit six bridesmaids, one bride, two hairstylists, a makeup artist, and two cats into a moderately sized townhouse? Carefully, I’m hoping.

The logistics of getting seven beautiful women even more beautiful all in a few short hours at my house is something I’ve been thinking a lot about.  The first thoughts were about the mimosas, the snacks, and slumber-party reminiscent giggles (I’ve romanticized this process, I realize).  But once those thoughts subsided, my mind turned to the logistics of having enough mirror space, outlets, and good lighting for everyone involved.

Where would we set things up?  A call into my hairstylists is definitely in order to determine what exactly their space requirements are.  But I’m envisioning I’ll set them up in my eat-in kitchen/dining room area where there’s plenty of good lighting – but no mirrors.  Those mirrors will be reserved for the makeup preparation, and the half bath downstairs and the full bath upstairs will be for that.  The five CFL light bulbs over each mirror should do the trick.

So cute...but where will he go?

The only major consideration left is those aforementioned cats.  I have two of the cutest, cuddliest cats ever.  I realize I’m biased – but it’s not just me.  One of my bridesmaids has more pictures of them on her cell phone than I do.  But the house is theirs too.  And thus, their orange hair is everywhere.  So instead of locking them up (which is not really an option), we’ll be doing a combination of advanced vacuuming and serious lint roller action.

How would you tackle the logistics for nine people in your home?  And should I have pastry?
