Loss of sleep, lots of caffeine, and munching on horrible snacks because you don’t have the time for anything healthy…sound familiar? All those factors make an equation for breakouts! And with all the camera opportunities during the winter, having a huge pimple on your nose isn’t the best move.
I try to do a facial peel or mask at least twice a week to ensure I don’t end up with a ripe blemish as my Christmas morning present. While it may seem like there’s no time for anything but wrapping presents or finishing up holiday cards, take the time to slather on one of these picks. Trust me, those extra five minutes will be well worth it!
Fresh Appleseed Brightening Exfoliant ($60)
This one’s at the top of my list because I cannot live without it. It’s a bit pricey, but I can ensure that you’ll realize it was well worth the investment after your first use! Somehow Fresh has conjured up a formula that does EXACTLY what it’s supposed to do without the excess irritation of the skin. This exfoliant is made from the best of natural ingredients like pomegranate seeds, bamboo, apple seed oil, mulberry root extract and even essential fatty acids.
Deep Cleansing Emergency Mask by Clinque ($19.50)
A leader in skin care, Clinique has done it again with its Deep Cleansing Emergency Mask. Clay-based and meant for those oh-my-God-what-is-that moments, it’s perfect for quick five minute fixes or longer at-home spa sessions two or three times a week.
Ahava Mud Exfoliator ($25)
I’m a big fan of Ahava, and that love was only strengthened after trying this fabulous little product. Like all things Ahava, this formula is made with natural Dead Sea mud and minerals, making it safe for sensitive skin. I personally love how creamy and luxurious the cream feels upon application.
MD Skincare Alpha-Beta Face Peel ($128)
Promising to deliver medical-grade quality in an easy to use at-home treatment, MD Skincare won me over with this kit. Usually kits like these include a bunch of messy steps that end with me frustrated and ready to pay someone for the same exact effect! The face peel ‘pads’ included are so easy to use and make the peel an easy part of your skin care regimen. Packed with Vitamins A, C, E and green tea extract, you’ll be surprised how great your skin looks without that pricey trip to a medi-spa!
FACE Peel Off Purifying Mask by Sephora ($12)
There is something so fun about a peel-off mask, and this one is no different! No need to rinse after you remove — the formula regulates oil in the skin and tightens pores without removing the excess moisture.
