I know we talk about the recessions quite a bit here at BX – but that’s because it’s affecting you, our loyal beauty buffs and we want to stay relevant do we not?
Well I have good news. Yes, good news about the recession, especially in retail. It’s this little four-letter word: Sale.
While we all are watching our wallets a little more closely, there are some really great buys to be found. I’m sure many of you, just like me, have cut back on spending, but still can’t resist the rare temptation to purchase a little something special every once in a while. It’s perfectly normal. And what’s great is now even the pricier retail outlets are starting to feel the pinch and putting fabulous items on sale (that word gives me delicious shivers). One of my favorite stores is Urban Outfitters. However, because of the high prices I usually limit myself to one item (and usually an accessory to boot) when I need an extra special boost (deadlines can be rough). However, last weekend as I was browsing the racks at Urban, and by browsing I mean buying (I never said I handled my money well), I came upon tons of dresses, shirts, skirts, and accessories at discounted prices.
AT URBAN. This seriously never happens. Sales at Urban are like a total eclipse – rare and usually overlooked.
The way I look at it is this: If you are going to spend your money (and you know when that urge has reached it’s all time high) you might want to start looking at some of your more luxury brands and stores because they are having some spectacular sales. I bought a long boyfriend sweater and a beautiful and very soft sweater dress with quarter-length sleeves for $70…total. Yes, total. Both items usually retail around $50 a piece. And they are pieces I will cherish and keep for years, so I didn’t feel as bad about the purchase.
Anyway, the point of this post? Sales are everywhere. If you are going to indulge make it worth your while (and your money).
