Bed Head Woes

Unless I map out a plan of attack, my morning “bed-head” is pretty standard around the BX offices. I am fortunate enough to sport some curly locks, so I think I pull off that messy-but-put-together-look — but I could be completely, 100 percent lying to myself to justify my lack of effort.

Don’t get me wrong, I love taking care of my hair – the products, the pampering, the overall look.

I have bought more flat irons, curling irons, shampoos, conditioners, and styling products than I care to count (or have counter space for). And when I hit the city nightlife? My hair is my biggest priority and what I spend the most time on when getting ready.  My problem is this: I just happen to not be a morning person until halfway through my first latte (usually around 8:45 a.m. for those staffers curious about my customary grunts good morning).

To help keep me fashionable and fabulous, despite the groggy a.m. fog I’m usually in, I have been looking for easy and simple hair styles that require less effort than hot rollers, but more effort than a pony tail. Today I struck gold with a little inspiration from Ms. Jennifer Aniston and her beautiful hair at this year’s Oscars.

Taking hair from the front, braiding it, and pinning it back is the perfect solution for me in the mornings. It takes two minutes tops, one bobby pin, and gives me the appearance of putting more thought into it than I actually did. Not to mention it’s cute and pretty and had one BX staffer “lusting” after it this morning.
