The other day, my husband walked through the door carrying the most glorious bundle of joy most women only dream of – a bag containing two DSW shoe boxes. Being that he’s the thoughtful type, I naturally assumed he picked me up a pair too (he actually has done this before, scoring BIG points to redeem later when he leaves the sink a complete mess…multiple times).
But no. They were two pairs of completely unnecessary shoes for himself.
What??? Okay - maybe after nine years together, I’m finally rubbing off on him. That’s fine. Besides, I still had my DSW Rewards gift certificates stashed in my dresser drawer that needed to be redeemed soon.
Anne’s Revenge…er Reward
Or so I thought. Nope – my newly-metrosexual, shoe-whore husband actually took them and used them for his purchase! “But they were expiring today,” was his only excuse.
Puh-lease! Doesn’t he understand the incredible amount of time and effort that went into getting those reward certificates? Countless hours scouring aisle upon aisle for the perfect shoe, the perfect deal (25 percent off is child’s play), on the perfect day with triple bonus rewards points.
I EARNED those certificates!
Not to fear. I wouldn’t let Shoe Boy get me down. Yesterday, I scored these bad boys (Tory Burch!) from Gilt.com at 60 percent off.
Sure, they’re three times the price he spent on his “stolen” merchandise. But whatever – I earned them.
