Beat the Heat or Did the Heat Beat You? Skindinävia Cool Flash Makeup Finish

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could work out and not end up leaving the gym with your mascara all the way down to your chin? Well, Skindinävia claims to have the solution for makeup meltdown with its Cool Flash Makeup Finish. Skindinävia asserts that the Makeup Finish will prevent meltdown and caking for hours by its “unique encapsulated cooling technology” that “chills the makeup surface 20°F, like an air conditioner, keeping a fresh look in the warmest temperatures.”

So what does Skindinävia tout as the key benefits for Cool Flash Makeup Finish?

  • Surface cooling technology holds temperature to avoid melting or sliding
  • Holds and blends foundation, eye shadow, blush, and concealer
  • Greatly extends makeup wear
  • Helps control shine
  • Fewer required “touchups” throughout the day
  • Helps reduce makeup slippage into pores, lines, wrinkles, or scars

While the concept is fabulous, the actual performance doesn’t necessarily stand the heat. I applied a few sprtizes of the Cool Flash Makeup Finish about 30 minutes before I went to the gym. I didn’t really feel much of a cooling effect, but I honestly didn’t expect to. It just felt like I was misting my face with cool water.

Once I got to the gym, I hopped on the treadmill and went for my normal 40-minute run. My makeup (tinted moisturizer, bronzer, blush, eyeliner and mascara) did seem to stay a little bit more put during my run, but it wasn’t a huge difference.

A 4 oz. spray bottle of Cool Flash Makeup Finish retails on the Skindinävia website for $29. So I guess the real test is whether or not you think $29 is a low enough price to keep your makeup just a tad bit more in place.

I am in my 40's and have hot flashes that feel like I am about 100 degrees…this spritz has been a HUGE help…also worked very well at two Summer weddings and a trip to FL last month…not sure if it's meant to run in….it's very light…works well with BE.
