Beauty Experiment: Talika Eye Therapy Erases Signs of Fatigue
“What did you get yourself into this time?” I asked myself, as I stared at the reflection showing two large quarter moon-shaped patches underneath my eyes.
Last night, dear readers, I was testing Talika Eye Therapy Patches, and I must admit, I went into the process a tad skeptical.
While I understand that certain ingredients can make a world of difference on de-puffing your skin (chilled eye cream can do the trick), Talika’s claim that a reusable eye patch would result in a “spectacular reduction of under eye wrinkles in just 30 minutes” made me wary. When I applied the patches, which didn’t feel like there was any product on it at all – there was just a rubbery, adhesive feeling – I mentally wrote them off as another product that had great claims, but few results.
Boy, was I wrong.
Though I tend to be impatient, I actually went the full 30 minutes wearing the patches, and after I saddled back up to my mirror, I audibly uttered, “Wow.” My husband even called out from the other room, “Wow, what?” (Of course, once he found out it had to do with beauty, he quickly went back to what he was doing.)
While I don’t have particularly puffy, wrinkly eyes, there was a world of difference staring back at me. There were no traces of bags, wrinkles and dark circles. They were simply gone – and this was after a long day of work staring at a computer screen. What’s more, my eye area felt tight, but good, and it stayed “depuffed” right up until I went to sleep later on.
So how do these little patches work? According to the brand, Talika Eye Therapy is the first cosmetic application of a post-surgery, technological discovery, featuring a controlled release of active ingredients. Ingredients include Ceramide III (for restructuring); essential oils including musk, rose, safflower, avocado and wheat germ; and Karite. Independent clinical tests conducted by GREDECO at the Hospital La Pitié – Salpêtrière in Paris determined the product effectively lessens wrinkles, reduces dark circles and puffiness and diminishes scars. And now, this skeptic knows for certain that these results are real.
