Can you Divine a Miracle with Davines Hair Care Products?
With the state of the environment becoming more and more of a global focus, it seems only natural that beauty companies have started to raise their standards to face this challenge.
Meet Davines — a high-end Italian company with a presence in over 60 countries. Their products feature ingredients focused on sustainability. “Beauty will save the world,” says the company. How so, you might ask? With products that are not only good for your hair, they say, but good for your environment as well.
The Nourishing Moisture Remedy Shampoo and Nourishing Vegetarian Miracle, which I was able to try courtesy of Davines, will clean your hair and your conscience. Rice protein, a natural “body builder,” and seaweeds (natural hydrators and cleansers) make appearances in both products in addition to other natural ingredients.
The shampoo has a yellowish hue and a thick, almost honey-like consistency (without the glueyness), yet its smell is a long way from sweet. If there is any doubt that these ingredients are all natural, the faint earthy scent is sure to convince you they are. The lather factor is minimal and requires significant scalp massaging, but it cleans. As for the nourishing portion of the shampoo, my hair — a product of years of highlights and the occasional chemical treatment (because body waves were cool in the early 2000s) — didn’t feel any significant change in texture, even after several uses.
The vegetarian miracle, a 10 minute leave-in conditioning treatment, made me a bit nervous with its instruction to “rinse carefully” after the elapsed time, but promised to quench my somewhat brittle hair’s thirst for shine status. The creamy (always a good sign for something meant to moisturize) conditioner seemed to disappear into my wet hair immediately without much massaging, but my hair never reached a super silky texture upon my rinsing (carefully!) several minutes later.
Davines’s eco-friendly products take a great initiative and aim in the right direction, but I’m still waiting for a miracle.
Try it yourself! Both products are available online at Amazon.com – an 8.45 oz bottle of the Moisture Remedy Shampoo will cost you around $17, and a 6.7 oz jar of the Vegetarian Miracle will cost around $26.
