A day doesn’t go by when we don’t hear at least one person mention how much they would just DIE for a piece of chocolate. Whether you are having a bad break-up, an unfortunate day at work, PMS or just the simple love for deliciousness, chocolate seems to solve everything. Given our love for chocolate, we felt it to be our journalistic duty (and tasty pleasure) to test out every chocolate-inspired beauty product we could find from lip balms to self-tanners. Stay tuned for the next few Wednesdays as we gluttonously adventure through an array of tasty and aromatic chocolate beauty products.
If you have ever wished that you could bathe in chocolate, then get ready for your dreams to come true. From lotions and body scrubs to soaps and bath fizzes, we have tested chocolate-inspired bath and beauty products — so many that we need to tell you about them in two parts! Stay tuned for the second installment of bath and body products, scheduled for two weeks from today.
For most, taffy conjures up images of boardwalks and the beach. But now, for us BXers, taffy conjures up images of soaking in chocolate, soothing and smoothing our skin. Pop a Chocolate Tub Taffy from Milk and Cookeez into your bath or a foot soak– then lay back, relax for about 20 minutes and enjoy as the Tub Taffy softens and moisturizes your skin. You’ll be sent straight to chocolate heaven — trust us, it is a beautiful place.Whipped Chocolate Mousse is a delicious dessert…and now, it is a fabulous body crème. You can tell the difference between this crème from Cleanse and other lotions. The thickest crème we have ever used, Whipped Chocolate Mousse went on so smoothly and luxuriously. Our hands were as smooth as baby-bottoms, but smelled just like Whipped Chocolate Mousse. We were tempted to nibble on our own hands or just take spoons, scoop out the crème and take a bite (Anne actually licked it). Too bad this crème isn’t edible. Available online through Out of the Blue Delivered, a tub of Whipped Chocolate Mousse by Cleanse retails for $28.
If you cherish your skin, love chocolate and adore coconut, then you will fawn over Cherish Chocolate Coconut Sugar Scrub from Sweet Beauty. We had to restrain ourselves from just licking the container clean, because this scrub smells exactly like a fudgy brownie. Cherish smelled heavenly and left our skin smooth and hydrated. Cherish is sold in 8oz containers for $19.Rich Dark Chocolate soap by Fraiche, an organic soap company, actually contains flakes of Godiva chocolate. We think that says enough in and of itself. It smells and looks just like a slab of dark chocolate or a brownie, but unfortunately, it isn’t edible. Available online, a bar of Rich Dark Chocolate costs $12.50, or you can get three for $33.
