Chocolate Craving: Bath and Body Beauty II

May 27, 2009 by Kristin Bassett 2 Comments

chocolateA day doesn’t go by when we don’t hear at least one person mention how much they would just DIE for a piece of chocolate. Whether you are having a bad break-up, an unfortunate day at work, PMS or just the simple love for deliciousness, chocolate seems to solve everything. Given our love for chocolate, we felt it to be our journalistic duty (and tasty pleasure) to test out every chocolate-inspired beauty product we could find from lip balms to self-tanners. Stay tuned for the next few Wednesdays as we gluttonously adventure through an array of tasty and aromatic chocolate beauty products.

This marks the second installment of our scrumptious review of chocolate bath and body beauty products. We’ve rubbed, scrubbed and soaked our way to tasty, beautiful, chocolate bliss and want to tell you all about our adventures.

pepperpattie2Growing up, and still to this day, we at BX love peppermint patties — the classic chocolate patty filled with a mint crème. That is why we fell in love with Peppermint Patties soap from Akron Grove Bath Products, Inc. The soap smells just like our childhood favorite; sadly, we are sure it doesn’t taste quite the same (we couldn’t convince anyone to give it a taste — not even Anne). Each 3 oz. bar of soap retails for $3.09 and is available online.

chocbathmelt-copyWe’ve heard of chocolate melting in your mouth, but chocolate that melts in your bath? Chocolate Bath Melt Treats from Honeycat Cosmetics look and smell good enough to eat (ask Anne, she actually nibbled on one…she just doesn’t learn). They work just as lovely as they smell, turning any ordinary bath into a heavenly chocolate experience (without any of the calories). A box of eight bath treats retails online for $25.

dark-cocoa-mint-setFor most of us, our feet need a lot of TLC (just ask Kristin). Instead of just scrubbing away all the dead skin, why not first treat your feet to an aromatic soak, scrub and lather with the Dark Cocoa Mint Set by Cleanse, available via Out of the Blue. The set includes a foot scrub and crème along with a bath bar. So after you are done treating your tootsies, you can luxuriously wash yourself clean. The whole set sells for $65.
