Pick your Poison Part V: Cocktail-Inspired Beauty

May 31, 2009 by Anne Houseman One Comment

cover-cocktailAfter a long day, sometimes a girl just wants to kick back with a drink in hand, whether it’s a sophisticated glass of chardonnay, a fancy mixed drink, a strong shot of tequila or a simple brewsky.  To get the party started without the risk of a next-day hangover (physical or moral), BX helps you pick your poison in a five-part series featuring our favorite alcohol-inspired beauty products that get you punch drunk pretty.

In our final installment, we mix it up with a melange of cocktail-inspired beauty products.

  • philosophyIn the mood for a real mixer? Try The Beach Party gift set by Philosophy ($30), featuring three sip-worthy concoctions: “senorita margarita” and “mimosa” 3-in-1s (shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath) and “melon daiquiri” flavored lip shine. After this “pre-game” ritual, you’ll be ready for the real deal at a tiki bar with your friends!
  • sweet-beauty-mojitoWant a more cooling refreshment? Chill with a mojito – a Sweet Beauty Mojito scrub, that is ($22). Made from organic, fair-trade white chocolate, lime, and mint, this delectable treat smells good enough to sip, and we had to hold ourselves back from tasting it. The scrub’s small granules are perfect for smoothing skin and leaving it soft and supple. Bottoms up!
  • mojitoSpeaking of mojitos, GIELLA custom blend cosmetics serves up its own version of the minty drink in the form of a pretty lip gloss.  Mojito peppermint-flavored gloss is silver flecked sheer lime green with a slight frost. Just a little dab will give you glistening, lips that feel minty-fresh. But as with all imbibing, moderation is the key – if you go overboard, you’ll look like a 12-year old who just ate a green popsicle…with glitter.
