Who needs a standing facial appointment when you can do nearly the same thing at home with a $30 tube? If you’ve got dry or rough skin, say hello to BORBA’s Replenishing Quench Masque, because it’s bound to be your new best friend (with benefits, to say the least).
BORBA was founded by Scott-Vincent Borba, a former Ford model and licensed Esthetician. He’s also a co-founder of e.l.f. cosmetics (now sold at Target). The BORBA company adheres to an “Inside/Out” philosophy of skin care treatment, offering both topical and edible products to treat the body with as much nourishment as possible. The Replenishing Quench Masque might initially appear to be just another run-of-the-mill rejuvenator, but look again, BX readers, because it’s practically magic! Less than one minute after applying a generous layer to clean, dry skin, the product oxygenates into tingling foam right before your eyes. The result is a cooling, soothing layer of moisture, but it doesn’t stop there. The instructions say to massage the masque with your fingertips and allow it to re-foam again – what could be better than one round of active oxygenation but two rounds of it?
The masque contains several effective botanicals (aloe, apricot, cucumber, soy) that contribute to the moisturizing power of the product, but it also uses collagen and elastin fiber to keep the moisture in.
Its active formula is generally mesmerizing at first, but might become a bit lackluster after the first use. The moisturizing effect is consistent and reliable, and after applying it once or twice a week for a month you should be able to begin cutting back significantly.
You can buy your own tube of foaming luxury, as it’s available online at BORBA and costs about $30.
