This product does what it promises. After leaving the powder in for two minutes and brushing it out my hair not only looked cleaner, it was cleaner. It left a faint hint of that yummy warm laundry smell — not a synthetic odor, but really soft and pleasant — that stayed for hours. Oat milk, corn and rice starch, and natural absorbent microspheres (the key ingredients) do more than just mask your hair with perfume and powder… they actually clean it.
Klorane’s Gentle dry shampoo is noticeably different from other kinds I’ve tried. Namely, it comes in a non-aerosol bottle. Good for the environment? Absolutely! Good for the hair? Yes, that too. For me, aerosol bottles always accumulated a thick gunk of product around the rim of the spray hole that quickly hardened and prevented any product inside from coming out and doing its job. Problem solved! Added bonus: you can easily pop the lid off to see how much powder you have left.
I will admit that I spent a couple of angry seconds pressing on the top of the bottle like a spray top in front of my hallway mirror before I realized that in order to get the product out of the bottle, you have squeeze the body of the bottle itself (like crushing a soda can in your hand, but more productive). When we finally did get on the same page, I found myself momentarily lost in a cloud of white powder. I jumped up and down to try to catch the airborne cleaner with my hapless hair, but felt like a lot was going to waste. After getting the hang of aiming the spout in the right direction, though, this scenario slowly stopped happening.

The 1.7 oz bottle goes for about $18, but you only need a few puffs to get perfection, so it goes a long way. Klorane’s Gentle dry shampoo might look like a glorified bottle of baby powder, but don’t be fooled — it actually is the real deal.
Get your own! It’s available online at Sephora.
