Tasty Treat(ments)

March 14, 2009 by Kristin Bassett 2 Comments

After beauty, food/eating might be the second favorite past time for the BX staff, which is why we couldn’t resist bringing you guys some of our most delicious products yet! From chocolate to cinnamon to coconut, we have some of the yummiest ways for you to pamper yourself!

chocolatemasqueWe’ve all had those chocolate cravings, where if we don’t get a block of milk chocolate in the next five seconds we will die, literally (or at least it feels that way). Well, now there is a way to get your fix without worrying about the pounds (not that that ever stops us) with Hemloq’s Chocolate Masque ($34.00). Made with shea butter, lactic acids, and aloe vera this treatment smells delicious with hints of chocolate, vanilla and honey. It’s a light masque that hardens over 20 minutes and leaves you smelling practically edible (NOTE: Men have chocolate cravings too).

isleofcandleCoconut is a big scent for us here at BX, which is why we fell in love with Isle of Candles soy coconut candle ($16.99). This product is great if you have rough or dry areas, since the wax can be used as a soy oil that you can apply to your skin to help moisturize. Isle of Candles comes in a variety of sizes and appetizing flavors including Caramel Vanilla, Cookies N Cream, Mango Melon, and Pink Grapefruit.

jaqpinkbutterhandcreamlGirl on the go? Grab the travel size of Jaqua’s Pink Buttercream Frosting ($8.00). This hand cream has meadowfoam seed oil, herbal extracts, and vitamins A and E to help moisturize, and it will have you literally drooling and craving a cupcake (Magnolia’s anyone?). We especially enjoy the warning on the back: “This product smells good enough to eat, but it is not edible.” So seriously, have a cupcake on hand.

strawberrybidwellsOne of our favorite finds is Bidwell Botanicals’ Strawberry Frappe Shea Butter Sugar Scrub ($14.40). This dense scrub is perfect for clearing away dead skin while leaving you feeling absolutely delicious. The product says to use 2-3 times a week, and we love using it, especially after we shave our legs. Besides smelling great, it does a fantastic job of making skin feel soft and smooth.

philosophycinnbunWhen we’ve had a particularly productive week at work (and the gym), we like to reward ourselves with a special treat, usually in the form of a cinnamon bun (although cookies and brownies will do). However, now we can indulge no matter what kind of week we’ve had with Philosophy’s Cinnamon Buns Three-in-One bath product ($16.00). This scrumptious concoction can be used as a body gel, shampoo, or a bubble bath, smells amazing and lets you pamper yourself in whatever way you see fit!

Who wants to cut work and get some dessert with me?

Double dipping is allowed at Isle of Candles. The soy lotion candles are a luxurious, yet really affordable, treat! Prices range from $6.99 to $16.99.
