Get by between washing your hair without feeling oily

I have seriously oily hair, but I know washing it too much is only going to make it worse. What can I do to make my hair look cleaner between washes?

You’re right about the consequences of washing your hair too much. Frequent washes strip hair of its natural oils, dry it out, then make your hair produce even more oil to replace what was lost. Keep up the good work washing intermittently and try out these de-oiling tips.
The easiest (and cutest) way to hide oily hair is to style it in a way where your roots are covered. For example, a slicked back ponytail or headband will do the trick. You should invest in a treasure chest of hair elastics and funky headbands. At the least, you’ll be quite the accessorizer.
A quick home remedy to soak up the oil is to rub baby power into your roots. Put a small amount of baby powder in your hands first, rub them together, and gently massage your scalp. Make sure to be sparring at first! If you overload on baby powder there’s no turning back — you’ll end up with a head full of freshly scented white powder.
The most efficient option to get rid of oily hair is to use a dry shampoo. Oscar Blandi’s Pronto Dry Shampoo has forever been a crowd pleaser and is super easy to use. It comes in two varieties, the loose dry powder and the spray. If using the loose dry powder, you can apply it directly to your roots, but the safest option is to put it in your hands first and massage it into your scalp. You can also put some in your hairbrush and comb it through to eliminate the mess. If you’re using the spray bottle, make sure you hold it about a foot away from your head and spray it through parted sections, then massage scalp with your hands to blend it.
