This week’s Ask BX is a special one — a follow up from last week’s question from reader Olivia. Our beloved reader Lissa wanted to know:
How about some suggestions for those of us with shorter hair? The longest part of my hair is chin length and I have side swept long bangs. How do you get rid of the bed head in hurry? I usually reach for my silk kerchief that was my mom’s when she was a teenager. I fold it into a headband, tied in the back. Right now, I don’t get much sleep, so 15 extra minutes in the morning trumps it all.
Well good thing Lissa, you’re on the right track with your kerchief-headband trick. Like last week, clips and headbands are still the key to covering up an unwashed ‘do. And depending on just how short your short hair is, you might be able to pull it into a cute little pony or muster up a bun. I used to have hair a little longer than chin length, and I was able to master the miniature pony.
Also depending on just how short your hair is, you may still be able to pull of a little braid-headband action à la Lauren Conrad. But if it’s not, you have another option. Since you have less hair than us long-haired folk, it would only take you a second to run a curling iron through your hair to add some casual waves a la Meg Ryan. Good luck!
