The news of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s engagement is big news across the pond and here in the states as well.  As a true fashionista, all I’m interested in is the dress, but until the big day I will focus my attention on Kate’s engagement ring.  The ring is an 18-carat oval blue sapphire surrounded by white diamonds that belonged to William’s mother, Princess Diana.

QVC already released a $39.54 replica of the ring, designed by Kenneth Jay Lane.  The ring debuted on the network Saturday and will soon be available on qvc.com.  Whether you are engaged, married or single and loving it, you can rock your own large rock.  Check out some of these cheap alternatives to the real thing.
