Style Forecast: What’s Hot, What’s Not in 2010

We’re finally getting used to the idea that it’s 2010, BeautyXpose beauties, and now it’s time to make sure we’re also up to speed on the latest fashions. After all, as couture-conscious style mavens, who wants to be caught in something that’s soooo 2009 when strolling down the street and happening upon celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe? (I die.)

2010 Style Predictions by Ysolt Usigan

Go Girl Next DoorAlthough being chic will still be in, we’re going to see more of a “girl next door” style on a lot of celebrities and fashion fiends. They’re going to braid their hair, wear floral dresses and blouses (doesn’t matter the season), and not wear too much makeup. When it comes to hair, experts say long, wavy strands will dominate. In terms of cosmetics, we’ll adore subdued peachy and pale pink palettes.

Store bubble skirts, sport pleated shorts

Get Shorty — Store your balloon-y and pencil skirts. We’re going to see a lot of shorts–but not super-short and crazy-tight shorts. I’m talking about shorts with pleats. This year, fashionistas are going to wear them with belts, frilly tops and platforms. The key to this hot trend: Keep it classy, not too sexy.

Brighten Up – Bright colors are going to be huge, especially greens, teals and oranges (but not worn together). From spring to fall, fashion mavens will jazz up their ensembles with splashes of color in the form of statement jewelry and textured fabrics. Hopefully, the happy shades will seep into our attitudes and get us out of our emotional funks.
