Ximenia Americana Oil
What it is: Ximenia Americana is the scientific name for the yellow plum, and its oil is extracted from the seed of the yellow-red fruit. One seed has up to 60 percent oil content.
Where you see it: Conditioner, body wash, moisturizer, anti-aging product, lipstick, soap.
What it does: This oil is used principally as an emollient, or an ingredient that softens and moisturizes the skin. It’s naturally rich in fatty acids, which are essential nutrients that contribute to healthy cell structure, and high in Vitamin C. It’s also generally accepted that this oil leaves virtually no residue on your skin. It is resistant to oxidation, which makes it ideal as an ingredient to fight free radicals.
