What does it take to impress your man on Valentine’s Day?

Is he a sucker for that little black (or red!) dress? Do stilettos make his day? Maybe it’s your signature scent?  It’s a common fact that men love sexy hair! Whether it’s long and straight, curly and short, or vice versa, a sexy ‘do will have your man smitten all over again

Last week, National Creative Director at Red Door Spas, Zahir Ziani, and I talked hair.  Not just regular hair — we talked Va-Va Voom Valentine’s Hair! I’ve spoken to so many women who don’t know what to do with their hair come that special day.  With the exception of a trim or new shade, most put more time into their wardrobe and makeup.

Within 10 seconds of meeting Zahir, I quickly realized he was to hair what Michaelangelo was to the arts — a genius! Ziani explained that a woman’s hair completes the ensemble — it is the icing on the cake, ladies! He noted how a simple outfit could be turned from okay to outstanding with the right hairstyle. I wouldn’t mind taking both hair AND style advice from him since he seems to know it all!

Here are a few tips from Zahir himself:

1. Long hair is sexy when it has life, volume, and body. Straight and flat is boring — men want to feel texture.

2. Try new styles! Trips to the hair dresser should not be a necessity but an adventure. Step outside your norm to spice things up. If you’re changing your hair and feel like changing your style up a bit — do it!

3. Style is about being yourself. We are not Jennifer Aniston or Angeline Jolie. Haircuts that look great on celebs might not look fabulous on you. It depends on YOUR style!

4. Bouncy curls are always sexy — on long or short lengths! If you have lots of time, try a curling iron. If not, hot rollers are a quick time-saver.

5. Don’t hide what you don’t like about yourself. Instead, bring out what you like the best!
