You Glo Girl: Kathryn Reviews Gloprofessional Skincare and Cosmetics

Glōprofessional is a skincare and cosmetics company whose tagline is “beauty with a higher purpose.” I was kindly sent products from the Glōminerals line as well as the Glōtherapeutics line.  Find out about their products and what I thought of Glōprofessional skincare and cosmetic lines.

First I tried the shadows from the Alloy Eyes Collection ($44.00), which come in a palette of eight different shades including Buff, Cappuccino, Silver Streak, Storm, Enigma, Tuxedo, Jet and Universe. The palette consists of both shimmery hues and matte shades.

Swatched: The Glōminerals Alloy Eyes Collection

Since I have never been a huge fan of eye shadow, mostly because I never knew how to apply it correctly, I was more than thrilled when I saw that the company provided me with step-by-step instructions on how to create daytime and nighttime looks. (I later learned that these helpful instructions are also at alongside the product).

As I followed their instructions for the nighttime look, I was amazed. I didn’t think I would get such a dramatic look because I wasn’t applying the shadows heavily, but I really did. My favorite part of the whole look was using Tuxedo on my upper and lower lash lines to define them.

All of the shadows were easy to apply and more importantly, lasted for the night. As of now, this collection of shadows is number one on my list.

Next was the Cream Color for Cheeks and Lips ($14.50). I applied it and was immediately surprised at how light it felt-it wasn’t sticky at all! It blended into my skin well and like the shadow, it lasted. I then put the Cream Color on my lips, which gave me a very natural look and went over it with the Gloss ($16.00) in pink blossom for a bit more shine.

This was another winner in my book as it went on smoothly and didn’t give me that feeling that goo was sitting on my lips like so many glosses do. (Another positive for the lip gloss is that a donation will be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation with each sale of this special edition Gloss in pink blossom).

Having tried three products, I am eager to try more. I loved every one of these Glōmineral products and am still in awe at how easily they went on and how long they lasted.

From the Glōtherapeutics collection I received the Advanced Skin Revitalizing Starter Kit ($130), B5 Hydration Serum ($50.00) and Tretinol 0.5% ($60.00). I started by using the Advanced Skin Revitalizing Starter Kit, which includes Ultra 15% Vitamin C and Advanced B5 Hydration Serum. These two products are supposed to work together to increase the absorption of active ingredients and enhance the benefits of moisturizer to revitalize skin. For me, the product did what it was supposed to do. By using the two products, I felt like my skin became more hydrated and I really liked how quickly they absorbed into my skin.

Next was the B5 Hydration Serum, which can be used alone or as a hydrator. Similar to the Advanced B5 Hydration Serum, it absorbed quickly into my skin and helped my dry areas. Lastly, was the Tretinol 0.5% which is intended to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. It uses a patented All-Trans Retinol complex and helps increase circulation to enhance your complexion.

Although wrinkles aren’t really an issue for me at this point in my life, hyperpigmentation from acne scarring is. I used the Tretinol 0.5% on my target areas and found that it actually did lighten the appearance of my dark spots. A con is that it made the targeted areas extremely dry, but I have sensitive skin so it may work better for someone else and a little moisturizer should solve the problem.

Overall, I enjoyed using these products from Glōprofessional and am looking forward to seeing what they come out with in the future.
