Aldo has really outdone themselves (and the competition) this season. Every year, once summer arrives I find myself completing my outfits with simple sandal designs; most often, the classic v-shaped thong sandal (in assorted colors, of course). However, this summer I have made it my mission to track down a pair of cute sandals that I can wear in the morning for a casual walk around Boston’s historic South End, and then transform for a night out on the town.

Aldo Lampe Sandal

To start off this little mission of mine, I had to narrow down my search. However, living in the city can make this quite the difficult task. I spent all afternoon window shopping on Newbury Street and perusing the many shops in Prudential Center. After making my rounds I finally decided that Aldo was the store for me. I’ve shopped at Aldo plenty of times in the past and I have always found myself pleased with the purchases I have made there. So, this past weekend I ventured in to the store in hopes of finding the perfect summer sandal. I was greeted by a few friendly associates and thus began my search.

One of the sandals I tried on, the Lampe sandal in Cognac, is described by Aldo’s website as having a “glamorous, ethnic-inspired feel,” and I would have to agree completely. The braided straps and the multi-colored feathers set this sandal apart from most others. I loved the way the sandals looked on, but I was leaning more towards the “Ice” color scheme (which this particular Aldo store did not have in my size, sadly). I tried on a few other sandals, but none of which I loved as much as the Lampe sandal.

I explained to one of the associates that I would look on Aldo’s online store once I returned to my apartment to check out the rest of the new arrivals. She suggested returning to the store to place my order once I came to a decision; that way I could take advantage of their free shipping deal (which I would highly recommend to all you readers!). However, I found myself even more overwhelmed after checking out Aldo’s online store; there are so many sandals to choose from! But, I managed to select a few of my favorites and once again narrow down my search. I still have yet to choose, but I will soon!
