At a recent trip to Sephora, I decided I needed to try something new. For the most part, my makeup stays consistent regardless of where I’m going. Whether I’m going to work or out to lunch, it’s always the same. The only time I really change it is if I’m going out at night, which just means I go a little heavier on the eyeliner. Not sure what the right choice to change up my look was, I decided to pick up Smashbox’s Decades of Style kit.
The best part about the kit is that comes with different options for cheeks, lips and eyes, so I didn’t have to choose just one new product. For eyes, the kit comes with three different eye shadow palettes and three different cream liners. The liners come in black violet, midnight brown and caviar while the eye shadow colors range from black to bronze to orchid, among others. This kit has enough options for your eyes no matter where you’re off to.
For lips, the kit contains two different glosses. Nectar is the one I use daily and pomegranate is the one I use when I go out. Nectar is light and pretty, while pomegranate is true to its name. It tastes like pomegranate and the color matches the name perfectly.
For cheeks, we have three different blush shades – peachy, soft lights and heartbreak. I use peachy on a daily basis, but not before I use the bronzer that comes in the kit. The bronzer is in the shade of sol and I have become obsessed with it. The first time I used it, I actually stood in the bathroom going on and on about how it looked like I had actual cheekbones and my boyfriend even agreed, noticing the difference. If that isn’t enough to tell you that this bronzer is a miracle worker, I don’t know what is.
I would recommend this kit to anyone who’s looking to try some new products without spending a fortune. For the entire kit, which is valued at $175, I paid $39.00. If you’re in the mood to change up your look this is definitely a great choice.
