It’s undeniable that shearling is almost every girl’s best friend when it comes to the cold winter months. Some of our coziest and most beloved items have that special hint of shearling to them that keeps us warm.

Some of you are probably wondering: “What is shearling?” Shearling is a fancy name for the sheepskin or lambskin that is used in clothing, shoes, and accessories. Many of us have owned some type of shearling in our lives without even knowing it—UGGs! Those comfortable boots are lined with shearling, which gives them that walking on a cloud feeling. Many other waterproof winter boots, such as the Sperry ones below, also have shearling in them for that extra layer of warmth.

Shearling lined coats are an item that once you try on you’ll never want to take off. The texture feels great and looks festive for the winter season. Shearling coats are most often paired with some type of beige or brown outer shell for an expensive look.
