Ever since I first saw lace up boots in fall 2010, I’ve been dying to try them. However, I’ve never had the courage. I suppose I feared looking too militant, but I feel like I’m about to get over that fear and jump right into this trend.
It is no surprise that I love Steve Madden lace ups considering I love every other Steve Madden shoe out there. My favorites from the brand are the simple Troopa boot and the edgier Rockwall Boot that’s lined with studs.
Aldo has a ton of mid-calf lace up boots, so there’s bound to be an option for everyone. I think the Aukes Boot in cognac is a great color for fall and neutral enough to go with anything. If you’re looking for a boot that hits a little lower, this H&M boot is a good fit.
If you’re looking for something a little more wallet friendly, head to Target. I’m thinking of ordering the Moss Keilani Boot as my first pair so I can see if I like how this style looks on me without spending too much. This style is also available in black.
I’ve been eyeing this trend for so long, I think it’s finally time I take the plunge. My only concern is coming across too harsh since these boots are a subtler version of a combat boot. I think I’ll try to stay away from black tops and will instead wear these boots with leggings or jeans and colored tops. I especially love when I see people on the street pair them with leggings and oversized sweaters, so I think I’ll try that.
What do you think of lace up boots?
