Spring 2013, Already?

Even though I wasn’t personally able to leave Boston to take part in the craziness that is New York Fashion Week, I came home from work each day to catch up via runway recaps.  I suppose that will have to suffice, right?

Though the runways were extremely colorful with fun pieces for Spring 2013, I spotted tons of classic dresses in the mix.  Among the sea of sunny yellows, fiery reds, and cobalt blues, pieces featuring dark blacks and bright whites were worn down the New York Fashion Week runways.  Some of the designers that had models strutting their stuff in black and white include Naeem Khan, Jenny Packham, Badgley Mischka, and Carmen Marc Valvo.

Hurry up Spring 2013!

Even though I’ve always been a fan of bright colors, especially for spring, the classic dark and light contrast caught my eye immediately.  Patterns, fit, repetition – each designer added their own twist to create entirely unique pieces. They made me excited for Spring 2013 fashion!

What I think I like the most is that all of these pieces are totally appropriate for any occasion worth getting dressed up for.  Sometimes runways are cluttered with, yes, designer wear – but designer wear that most of us couldn’t pull off for a dinner, wedding, etc.  But, these  I think really anyone could pull off!

How do you like the classic black & whites for next spring?
