I recently found out I’ll be going to Ocean City, Maryland this weekend with my cousin for a week-long vacation and cannot contain my excitement. I haven’t been to a beach in years and am looking forward to lounging on the beach with a book in my hand. However, I need to get some bathing suits because most of mine are older and have lost their shape. Here are a few different styles that are on the top of my list.
Neon: It’s no secret that neon has been hot for the past few months. It’s everywhere and there’s no escaping it. My favorite way to wear neon is on a bathing suit. I tan pretty easily in the summer and love the way the neon looks against bronzed skin. This two-piece suit from Target is bold and bright; it’s the perfect accent to a summer glow.

Bandeau Tops: I love these for sitting on the beach or by the pool because they ensure that I don’t have any visible tan lines. This Victoria’s Secret swimsuit is a great coral color and the polka dots make it fun. Plus, this bathing suit comes with removable straps. Leave them off while you catch some sun and put them on if you want some extra security in the water. If you prefer a strapless top without under wire like the balconet tops have, try a bandeau like this.
Victoria's Secret Balconet Top ($24) and Cheeky Hipkini Bottom ($15)
Victoria's Secret Belle Bandeau Top ($24) and Side Ruched Low-Rise Hipkini Bottom ($18)
One-Piece: You don’t always have to wear a bikini. Today, one-piece styles are just as cute. I love a lot of the options that American Apparel has, especially this swimsuit. With two colors it follows the color blocking trend and it comes in five different color combinations.
American Apparel Nylon Tricot Bandeau Swimsuit ($31.50)
Swimsuit shopping can be dreadful, but I like to find what looks best on my body. Find a style that works for you and you’ll have much more fun and be a lot more comfortable.
