Not that I’m saying I’ve seen every single shift dress out there, because really, that would be simply ludicrous. But, out of those that I have seen, I have never spotted a shift dress that was not classy. I’m sure most of you can prove me wrong, but I would rather you not, as the shift dress is still one of my favorite silhouettes.
Plus, it’s not like the shift dress hasn’t evolved with time. While it’s kept to its original shape, new patterns and color combinations have kept this favorite up to date. If you don’t believe me, check out some of my new favorite shift dresses below!
This Geometric Color Block Merengue Dress ($105) is such a fun take on the classic shift. With bright colors, fun block patterns, and silk waist tie, this piece is the perfect date night dress.
Though not something I would normally find myself purchasing, I was immediately drawn to this Shift Dress with Sequin Stripes by Warehouse ($125). The dress features a v-neckline with sequin stripes and color blocks for an overall fun summer look.
This Ashley Dress ($398) by Kate Spade is a wonderful example of the classic shift dress, without appearing even slightly dated.
Feeling bold? Try out this Peplum Pencil Shift Dress ($57) from Topshop! With its bright pink color and mini peplum detailing, its perfect for all seasons. Pair it with wedges for summer or tights and flats for the colder seasons.
