80Bites Diet Progress Report: Quality and Frequency

Completing the first and second steps of the 80Bites Diet has been a lifestyle change for the better! I’ve found my eating habits have already substantially improved and I’m only just halfway done!

As mentioned in the previous post, the 80Bites Diet focuses on four core areas — Quantity, Frequency, Quality, and Balance. As you begin the diet, you slowly start with the Quantity phase. This is where the terminology “80Bites” comes in.

Make each bite count!

The three weeks in the Quantity phase focus on counting the bites you take during each eating period, making sure you do not go over 25 bites for meals and 12 bites for snacks. Although slightly tedious, this process of counting bites will later result in naturally better eating habits, as your body and stomach will become accustomed to these quantities.

I’m not going to share all the secrets and tips that the Quantity step shares — that’s for you to find out if you sign up for the diet! But I will say that the tips and hints that come with unlocking the steps each week make the transition into diet mode much more smooth. By the end of week three, you’ll find yourself eating more slowly, enjoying your food to the fullest extent, and still feeling full after cutting yourself off after the allotted amount of bites.

Brushing helps curb cravings!

As you enter the Frequency phase, the focus turns towards when meals should occur and how frequently. They cover the topics of late-night snacking, grazing, and teeth-brushing, and the myths that surround each. One of my favorite tips that the diet provided was that brushing your teeth curbs your hunger, and if that late night craving comes, as it so often does, try washing it away with some Listerine. This is one of many different secrets that unlocking the Frequency (and Quantity) phases provide. By the end of the Frequency phase, you’ll have a list of tasks and tips that will help with day-to-day struggles that come with starting a new diet.

So far, I’ve really appreciated all of the inspirational and helpful info that the 80Bites Diet provides. Specifically, I’ve cut way down on late-night snacking, overeating, and my teeth are looking shiny and clean from all the tips and tricks I’ve learned. I can’t wait to continue the diet and my trek to a healthier eating lifestyle, and so far I recommend this to everyone!
