Saving Myself From the Sun

I’ve been at the beach almost every weekend this Summer. In fact, when you read this, I’ll be on vacation at our beach house down in North Carolina. If you’ve read any number of my old posts, you’ll know that I’m as pale as a ghost. While I have come to accept my glaring-white skin, it does normally become a problem during the sunny Summer days. Even just a few minutes unprotected in the sun usually leaves me with terrible burns.

Excited to head to the beach (and to wear my new floppy hat)

You don't scare me, sun!

However, I’m proud to announce that I have out-smarted the sun this Summer and have yet to suffer through a sunburn. It’s a personal victory, so please rejoice with me! While I change up my shades, bikinis and hats almost every weekend at the beach, one thing has remained constant – my sunscreen. This whole Summer, I’ve been lathering myself in Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen. Since I’m so pale, I tend to stick to the SPF 30, but it comes in SPF 15 and 50 as well.

My Summer saviour!

What I love about this sunscreen is that it not only protects your skin, but it also pampers and moisturizers. In fact, it’s the only sunscreen with hydrating ribbons. Protection from the sun and 12-hour moisturization … what more can a girl ask for, really?! Plus, it smells so much better than a lot of the sunscreens I’ve tried out in my day. Thumbs up all around!

Like I said, I’ll be on the beach in North Carolina while you read this. You can bet your bottom dollar (or any dollar, actually) that I’ll be sporting this sunscreen during my beach activities. I can’t wait to report back to you about the trip  and how well Hawaiian Tropic protected my skin!

What have you been up to in the sun this Summer?
