Time to Suit Up

Even though I do love 1950s fashion-the big hair, the fancy dresses, the cute little heels-I am so glad it is 2012 and it is acceptable for women to wear pretty much anything, including suits!   Now, when I say suit, I don’t mean the boxy, manly, oversized blazers and loose pant look.  I’m referring to feminine blouses, skinny trousers, and fitted blazers.

Check out some of my favorite pieces for putting together your own suit below.  Readers, how do you feel about the suit look for women?

Pretty, yet powerful

This ASOS Blouse With Wrap and Dropped Collar ($53.72) is the perfect feminine blouse.  The semi-sheer chiffon top in light pink/nude is a great little pop of color to any outfit, while keeping it classy at the same time.

Prove your business-savvy in this blazer

Though this ASOS blazer ($98.48) is called the “Boyfriend Blazer,” it’s still fitted in a super feminine and sophisticated way.  Really though, what could be more feminine than dot print lining?

Pants aren't just for the boys these days

These J. Crew Minnie pant in stretch twill ($79.50) are perfect to pair with the ASOS blouse and blazer.  The cropped leg lets you show off your cute heels plus the flattering two-way stretch is always a plus!

Everyone will want to walk a mile in these shoes

These Vatican Snaffle Trim Loafers ($64) are a modern-day feminine take on men’s loafers and a great shoe to pair with the rest of this outfit.  How adorable are those little tassels?!

I think it's time to buy this watch

Last, but not least, to put the finishing touch on your “suit,” throw on this fancy rose gold Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Marci’ Leather Strap Watch ($150).
