I really thought that the day I turned 18, my fairy godmother was going to appear and eliminate any signs of acne and make it disappear forever. Well, it has been almost three years and I’m still waiting for her. Although my breakouts are not as bad as they were when I was a teenager, they’re still annoying and still have the amazing ability to ruin my day. It seems like they always pop up at the worst times. I’m happy to say I’ve finally found a product I like to use to keep my acne at bay, especially for those hormonal ones that pop up once a month.

Zap away your acne

It’s no surprise that I love Benefit Cosmetics, considering I’ve raved about a lot of their products in the past. Benefit Boo Boo Zap! is my current go-to for those stubborn pimples that never seem to go away. It’s a fast-acting invisible acne treatment that purifies and dries out blemishes while reducing the appearance of acne-related redness and swelling. Plus, it can even be worn under your makeup. (Fun Fact: As I’m writing this, I’m currently on a train with Benefit Boo Boo Zap! under my makeup). Boo Boo Zap! is gentle enough to be used multiple times a day; the bottle suggests using it between one and three times daily.

Although all skin types of different, for my oily and acne-prone skin, this is a great product. I’m not sure how it would work on more severe acne, but for those who breakout with a few pimples throughout the month, this is definitely worth trying.
