This past Sunday I was invited to a VIB Rouge “Beauty Before Brunch” party. What does that mean? People who spend too much money at Sephora on a yearly basis are invited to come spend even more money all at one time. Needless to say, I RSVPed as fast as my little fingers would let me and planned my mini Sephora Haul.

Having just returned for a long and relatively expensive vacation, I told myself I would save money by just picking up the “necessities.” But need is relative, and I ended up with three hair products I was excited to get my hands on. I snatched up the Living Proof PHD shampoo and conditioner, which I have been LOVING (more on that later), and the Bumble and Bumble Don’t Blow it cream I had read about on Gouldylox. I haven’t tried the B&B cream yet, but I’m going to this weekend and I can’t wait!

In addition to the products that I paid for, each event-goer was gifted an adorable makeup bag filled with samples from all sorts of brands ranging from KORRES to benefit to Chloe. Not a bad perk!

What goodies have you picked up recently?

I love Sephora. I think it’s my favorite store. I’ve been VIB Rouge for the last 2 years but I’m only slightly over halfway there for this year. I guess we’ll see if I make rouge again. I noticed a couple commenters saying they don’t have a Sephora near by. I was in the same situation for years, until one opened in my local mall, but I encourage those without a local Sephora to shop online. Shipping and returns are free and if you try a product for a week or two and decide you don’t like it, you can Still Return It! Lots of products need to me used more than once to know if they preform. Especially skin or hair care. You can also get many of the same perks online. Even though I have a Sephora close by now, I still shop online most often. Shipping in 2 days and I can browse for as long as I like, read all the reviews and shop around the clock online. If you need help while shopping online you can chat with an advisor online or by phone. If you shop online remember to check for promo codes for free deluxe samples and when you accumulate some points check out the deluxe samples available to beauty insiders. I especially like being able to try new deluxe perfume samples. Believe it or not, I don’t work for Sephora, or know anyone who does. It’s simply one of the few stores I know of who treat customers with respect and seem to really enjoy the products they sell. Forgive any proofing errors. I’m in an exam room as I write this. Thanks for reading my comment.

Ooh, great haul! I’m interested to hear what you think of the B&B Don’t Blow It cream. I’m not much of a blow drier so it sounds pretty appealing.

My nearest Sephora is a two hour drive away so I usually do not go into store but order online. I always think it is fun to see all the goodies they have.

Y aknow… I’ve only ordered from Sephora one time. I just never think to look or order from there

  • FabZilla_Kath

I didn’t go to the event but I’ve been shopping online lately

  • Phyrra

I didn’t go to the event because the last one I went to was so lame I figured there was no point. It sounds like yours was awesome!

I don’t buy from Sephora enough to be VIB, I go to ULTA or order online from Nordstrom. I agree though if they had events like this I might come back to Rouge hehe

  • Allison @neversaydiebeauty

I’m VIB but not close to Rouge, so I didn’t even realize they had Rouge events! Sounds like fun. And you made some very nice purchases. I’m a big fan of BM Marvelous Moxie lipstick line.

  • Lola Seicento

I was a few dollars short of Rouge status, but really didn’t want anything so I didn’t make unwanted purchases just to become VIB Rouge.

When I was VIB Rouge, my Sephora never had any cool events available, so tbh, I didn’t worry about making VIB Rouge this year. If they had cool events like this though, I probably would’ve tried a little harder! LOL
