Dietribe: Do you Slack on Sleep?

sleep on books cover

In grade school, they taught us that to grow up strong and healthy, you should eat nutritious foods, exercise, drink plenty of water and get a good night’s sleep. Now that we’re grown, the basic formula for good health remains the same. However, in a world that’s jam-packed with stressful responsibilities, many of us opt to skimp on sleep.

Fall is here, and with the holidays just around the corner, it’s tempting to become ensnared in a web of unhealthy food choices. Remember my issue with the weather?  Well for some reason, the Mother Nature overlooking the Outer Banks in North Carolina decided that this week is the perfect time [...]

Dietribe: Showing Signs of Stress

Stressful days = pizza dinners for Anne This week, I’ve been unbelievably stressed, and it’s written all over my face…literally.  In fact, when I booked a facial to unwind at Serenity in the City Salon and Spa in Medford, Mass., Kathleen, my fantastic esthetician, remarked that it looked like I had a rash on my [...]

Dietribe: With a Little Help From My Friends

hands support

This week has been pretty good in terms of making healthy decisions.  I’ve eaten within my WeightWatchers points range, and I’ve started to reintroduce exercise into my routine. And I have to say, I owe a big part of this week’s success to all of you! Here’s how your support has really helped: First, I [...]
