Hi, beauties. I have something exciting for you! I’ve teamed up with a group of fabulous beauty bloggers to bring you a giveaway just in time for the back to school season. Imagine the damage you could do at someplace like Target with a $350 gift card. And if you’re like me and too old to go back to school, no worries, you’re still welcome to enter. All of the details are below and good luck to everyone!
Now that it’s mid-August, school is right around the corner. Even though this is my third year of college and you might think I’d have everything I need by now, I don’t. With a new school year comes new trends and new ways of thinking. Check out what’s on my list for this fall.
Yoga Mat: I need a yoga mat to do core exercises in my room. After learning from experience (never doing ab exercises on my hard dorm floor), I’ve decided I can’t have any more excuses. My top picks are all bright because bright workout clothes and sneakers tend to get me more in the mood to workout, so I figure a bright mat will do the same. I love the plain Gaiam mats I’ve seen like these, as well as the printed mats.
Comfortable Clothing: I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to sit through an hour and forty-five minute class and feel uncomfortable because I’m wearing my skinniest pair of skinny jeans. I opt for leggings most days, which I think are fully appropriate for college, if worn the right way. I beg you to wear a top that covers your behind because no one needs to see through your leggings. Leggings are not pants. Think of them more as tights. Get a thick pair of leggings to make sure that even if your long top rides up, they’re not see-through. Your best bet is looking for sport apparel because these leggings are usually thicker. So Low leggings are more expensive but do a great job of hiding your underwear. American Apparel’s Winter Legging is a cheaper alternative.
Warning: My mother says to put on jeans at least twice a week to make sure you’re not getting too comfortable in stretchy pants. My first year of college proved that she was right and I now follow this rule.
Shoes For Walking Around Campus: I love Boston, but walking around on brick sidewalks can get tricky in any form of heeled shoe whether it is a pump or boot. I always opt for flats, flat boots or sneakers during the day. Save the heels for night, ladies. The Kadiee Flat from Steve Maddenis the perfect shoe for going to class. Whether you’re in leggings or jeans, this flat is cute enough for class while being comfortable. I love the zipper and studs at the back.
A Bag That Actually Fits Your Books and Laptop: Usually my schedule allows me to run back to my room between classes to drop off books I’ve used already. I never require a huge bag since I have this luxury. I just need one that fits the essentials: my laptop and books for the class. This H&M bag is perfect for my schedule, but if you need to pack your bag with everything you need for the day, try something bigger and more flexible like this.
To everyone heading back to school, good luck!
