Product Review: New eos Smooth Sphere Lip Balms

I’m not sure about all you readers out there, but lip balm is a serious purse necessity no matter where I’m going.  It’s not that I constantly have chapped lips, but the feeling of soft, smooth lips is much better than dry lips, right?  So, you can imagine the moment when I anxiously ripped open the packaging of six new eos Smooth Sphere Lip Balms.  Yup, you heard me right, six.  I was lucky enough to have the chance to try out all of the new flavors!  But, now I have the problem of never knowing which one to choose for the day!  In all honesty, I normally just carry two along with me.  Yes, that is how indecisive I am.

The eos lip balms have tons of jojoba oil, shea butter, and vitamin E so your lips will stay soft and completely moisturized throughout the day.  Also, if you’re anything like me, you’ll be extremely pleased to hear they don’t test any of their products on animals.  Yay for fabulous, smooth, organic lip balm!

The new summer 2012 lip balm line includes Summer Fruit, Lemon Drop (spf 15), Strawberry Sorbet, Honeysuckle Honeydew, Medicated Tangerine, and Sweet Mint.  See what I mean when I can never pick just one?!  The Smooth Sphere Lip Balm retails for $3.29 at retailers such as Target, CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens.

Are you convinced to try out a new lip balm for summer?  Check out the rest of their products here!

How fun are these new lip balms?!  They feature soft, sweet scents such as strawberry, honeydew, and tangerine — perfect for summer!

Even though the spheres are small and totally great for toting around in a clutch, there is so much lip balm packed inside each one! Luckily these won’t run out too quickly!

Gift these cute little egg like lip balms for Easter! Stock up on a few and stuff them into Easter baskets for the upcoming holiday — the perfect gift for any age.

Lip Balm Love

At this point in the winter there is no doubting how dry our skin can get. The bitter wind chill often times leaves our faces frostbitten, and even worse, our lips chapped. However, there is no need to fear since us lucky ladies have the choice of many different moisturizing lip balms to protect our pouts during the winter season.

As a little experiment, I’ve been trying out a variety of different lip balms over the past month or so to fill you all in on my favorites. You could find some great deals with Meijer lip balm and lip treatment coupons and keep your lip healthy and hydrated. I’ve even learned an awesome trick or two to help lips brave the cold…

1. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment– Sephora – $22.50

Aside from being on the pricey side, this SPF 15 lip balm is worth the splurge. It comes in a variety of tinted shades, which nourish lips all while adding a subtle yet charming hint of color. It smells citrusy and feels fresh on the lips, a nice reminder of the summer months ahead!2.  eos Lip Balm Smooth Spheres– Evolution of Smooth – $3.29I’ve written a review and raved about these little spheres of wonder before, and I will mention them again right now. This is probably my favorite lip balm I’ve ever owned. The formula glides on easy and remains on the lips for a long period of time. The lip spheres are 100% natural and 95% organic. Added bonus — the egged-shaped packaging makes this balm easy to find in any handbag!

3. Neutrogena Naturals Lip Balm– Neutrogena- $1.99

I was interested in trying out this lip balm since I use the Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser and absolutely love it. Predictably, this lip balm was just as refreshing as the facial cleanser. The balm contains Vitamin E and leaves a soothing feeling on the lips. If you’re looking for a simple and clean lip balm, definitely opt for this one.

4. Vaseline Petroleum Jelly– Target- $3.39

I know this is probably the least glamorous sounding lip balm ever, but for this one it’s all about the technique. A good friend of mine told me to try brushing my lips with an old toothbrush and Vaseline every night before bed to exfoliate and moisturize my lips, and boy was she right on! This is the perfect way to keep lips healthy while sleeping and creates the perfect base for wearing other lip balms during the day. I’m now a regular on this lip trick!

Will you be trying any of these lip balms this winter?

Review: eos Summer 2011 Lip Balm Spheres

With the heat and humidity of the July sun, keeping your lips hydrated can undoubtedly be a tricky task. Luckily now thanks to the Evolution of Smooth, better known as eos, keeping a perky pout just got all the more effective and festive.

As of May 2011, eos has stocked many stores’ shelves with its limited edition Summer 2011 collection of lip balm smooth spheres.  Having grown up my whole life as a lip balm over lip gloss kind of girl, I could not have been more excited to try out these spheres.

eos lip balm spheres in Passion Fruit and Strawberry Sorbet

The lip balm spheres come in two delectable summer flavors, Strawberry Sorbet and Passion Fruit.  Both flavors smell delicious and glide on with ease.  The spheres are kept in adorable matching pink and lavender packaging that twists open.

With ingredients like shea butter and vitamin E, these lip balms help to keep lips smooth and healthy.  As a bonus, these USDA-certified organic lip balms are 100% natural and 95% organic, as well as recyclable once all of that goodness is gone!

This past week I used the Strawberry Sorbet lip balm for a whole five day vacation in Canada and could not have been more impressed with how long it lasted on my lips as well as the lip sphere’s moisturizing power. Friends of mine were so intrigued by the unique shape and smell of the lip balm that they wanted to try some for their own lips.  Their reaction was similar to mine as they excitedly told me of their plans to go and buy some of their own!

The eos Summer 2011 lip balm spheres are retailed at $5.99 for the package of two and can be found at major retailers such as Walmart, Walgreens, and Target.com.  Don’t forget that these summer flavors are limited edition, so get yours soon before the leaves start changing colors!
