Angels on Bare Skin by Lush

Touched by an Angel

By guest blogger Natali Walker

Angels on Bare Skin by LUSH is great exfoliating facial cleanser. There are no harsh exfoliating granules that strip your face of moisture. Soft ground almonds, lavender, and rose leave your skin super soft and not dry. This cleanser is handmade with all-natural ingredients. Similar to the other LUSH product I reviewed, all you need is a dime-sized amount. As far as the price goes, Angels varies depending on weight. You pay more when you add more to the container.

I know it’s weird, but there’s something I really love about the way it’s packaged. It’s so no frills. It looks more like something you’d find in a refrigerator at a deli, than at a beauty store (there are actually other LUSH products –like their face masks–which require refrigeration). That should paint a picture of this brand’s all-natural status.

Lunch or LUSH?

Mix this hearty product with little bit of water and ta da! You’ve got one clean, exfoliated face and without any irritation! I’ve recommended this product to friends, who are just as pleased with the results as I am.

Natali Walker is not your ordinary beauty product fanatic. She recently got back from an internship studying bats and other critters in Vermont, during which she spent ten whole months not wearing a speck of makeup! However, she’s making up for lost time now that she’s not in the rugged outdoors — experimenting with colorful eyeshadows, shopping for cool cosmetics, watching makeup tutorials, and now doing product reviews.

Natural Beauty: Treat Your Feet With Gehwol Fusskraft Foot Scrub

Looking for ways to look your best — naturally? Look no further. Through reviews of all-natural and organic products and investigations into cosmetic ingredients, our Natural Beauty column will help you make more informed decisions about your beauty purchases.

My part-time job with the U.S. Census Bureau requires me to be on my feet – a lot. So when I was sent  a sample of Gehwol’s Fusskraft Bamboo Scrub, I was super excited to get it between my toes.

This product is packed with exfoliators, and as I massaged the scrub over my feet, the combination of sugar and bamboo powder soothed and smoothed my sore soles. The scent isn’t overpowering, and it reminded me of the relaxing rub that was applied to my skin the last time I got a massage.

I didn’t feel like my skin was any smoother once I rinsed off the scrub, but my feet definitely felt refreshed and rejuvenated.

If you’d like to try Gehwol’s foot scrub for yourself, check out their website. It costs $25.95, but it’s a big jar that is sure to last a while.

Natural Beauty: Scrub Your Green Thumb with the Beekman After the Garden Bar

gardenbar 001Looking for ways to look your best — naturally? Look no further. Through reviews of all-natural and organic products and investigations into cosmetic ingredients, our Natural Beauty column will help you make more informed decisions about your beauty purchases.

As an enthusiast of all things natural, I’ve never particularly enjoyed using store-bought exfoliating creams I can squeeze out of a tube. I mean, how boring is that? I would much rather make my own facial scrub from oatmeal or sugar. An added bonus from employing these exfoliating methods is that I always know exactly what I’m putting on my skin. No hidden chemicals or fragrances here!

Well, the new After the Garden Bar from Beekman 1802 harnesses the exfoliating powers of another natural item – poppy seeds! Comprised of only goat milk, poppy seeds and various natural oils, this bar is perfect for natural beauties looking to clean the dirt from beneath their fingernails and scrub the grime from their palms.

Since this soap is so humongous, Beekman recommends customers cut it into pieces as needed and keep the rest of the bar away from moisture to preserve it for as long as possible.

This isn’t cheese — it’s soap!

The After the Garden Bar can be purchased online for just $10. Like I said, the soap is huge, and it is sure to last a long time!
