Hidden Gem: Fossil Clothing and Accessories

If you know me at all, you’ll know that I am a sucker for fun and feminine clothing. If I had the choice of a skirt over pants, I’d choose the skirt. And if I had the choice of magenta vs. aqua, magenta all the way. This is why I have to tell you about my love for Fossil’s clothing and accessories.

My Fossil flatforms from spring

I’ve posted about my adorable maxi skirt and flatforms both purchased at Fossil, but never really went any further on my love with this store. Fossil is known for its watches and handbags, which is why I was shocked to see clothes and so much more when I walked into the new flagship store on Newbury Street a few months ago.

I went about the store how I would any new store. Scanning for items I liked then checking out the price. The price point for their clothing is moderate, and they often have a lot of great items on sale. I personally love all of their dresses since they are cut very nicely and flatter the figure well.

Their shoes and accessories are also something to look at. If you are looking for genuine real leather accessories, then this store has just what you’re looking for. The quality and durability of their products is spectacular, as I’ve seen with how well my flatforms have held up all spring and summer.

Check out some of my favorite Fossil clothing and accessories below, and don’t hesitate to stop in your local store this season for some great finds!

Pretty in Pastels

It seems almost outrageous that swimwear, sandals, and dresses are already out on store floors, but I’m all for the pastel palettes this year.  Bubble dresses, skinny crops, pencil skirts, and feminine accessories are making a big splash in the fashion world this spring.  Plus, they’re all offered in an array of fun, flirty pastel colors!

Pastels are currently popping up everywhere — from fashion blogs, to organizational accessories, to spring designer lines and magazine photo shoots.  They’re fun, sophisticated and totally classy.  There are so many ways you can wear pastels — dress them up with dark, contrasted heels and sparkly baubles, or dress them down with neutral flats and subtle accent pieces!

Gap is all about the pastels this spring, for instance, these fabulous 1969 Lightweight Always Skinny Skimmer Jeans  in lilac, rose, and surf pipe blue, to name just a few colors ($69).

Pencil skirts are totally in this year- especially pencil skirts like this figure flattering No. 2 Pencil Skirt by J.Crew ($110).  Try it out in light rose, citron, or casablanca blue for a fun pop of color!

I happened to see one of my favorite bloggers wearing this fabulous dress and knew right away I had to have it as well.  This Zara Tulip dress blends together a touch of class, a soft pastel color, and a bubble skirt to create one of the cutest pieces of the upcoming spring season ($99).

Fossil’s most recent accessories line is the epitome of flirty pastel colors.  For instance, check out their Maddox Organizer Flap bag in sea green ($198)!  Functional and colorful all at the same time.

What pastels do you plan on stocking up your closets with this year?

Season Staple: Menswear Watches

urban outfitters watchIt’s no secret we’re inspired by his closet every once in a while. After all, boyfriend jeans and shirt-dresses didn’t come out of thin air. Like seasons past, we’re still inspired by the other side, only now we want to add more bling to our boy-drobe. Dump your dainty pieces, it’s time for menswear watches.

Generally speaking, all fabulous menswear watches have one thing in common- a gigantic face. Leather or metal band? Arabic or Roman numerals? No difference. The most important thing to remember when shopping for the ultimate menswear timepiece: size does matter.

Luckily, this season designers have created menswear inspired looks specifically for women, enabling us to embrace the trend, but refrain from creeping the men’s accessories section. Urban Outfitters has a plethora of gaudy gold or leather banded pieces at seriously affordable prices, but the even most traditional watch houses, like Fossil, have come up with their own masculine designs for ladies, too.

timex watchIf you still can’t find exactly what you’re looking for in the women’s department, though, have no fear to shop men’s watches directly. It should come as no surprise that some of the hottest menswear pieces are, well, actually for men. While we forever fantasize about getting our womanly wrists inside a colossal Rolex, Timex has some super classic pieces that fit any budget. Buyer beware: If you chose a genuine menswear watch, the band is definitely going to be on the bigger side. Make sure it’s fastened enough where it won’t fall off, but feel free to exploit your authenticity by keeping it a little on the looser side.
