It’s my favorite season for fashion – Fall. How can you not just love all the jackets, scarves, sweaters and purses?! Ok, so purses aren’t unique to Fall, but purses are always a good thing.
I’ve only owned two peach purses in my life. Once in 10th grade and once … now. This Robert and Matthew bad boy has become my everyday work bag of the moment. It’s the perfect size and I love that is has a shoulder and cross-body strap. I don’t acknowledge purses without a cross-body option (unless it’s my trusty Lonchamp).

I wouldn’t normally whip out a peach purse after the Summer, but I’m actually kind of loving the unexpected color. It’s a nice contrast to the deeper colors of the rest of my Fall clothing. Plus, I’ve been getting loads on compliments, so I can’t put it away for next Spring/Summer just yet.

The Sunday Yellow-Neon Tote is the perfect accessory to pair with a neutral-colored outfit. I’m already dreaming of carrying this beauty around with my favorite skinnies, a pair of nude flats and my cozy white sweater this fall.
How gorgeous is this Square Mandarin-Orange bag? From the color to the gold lock and key, I want to tote this bag around for work and play. For those of you looking for a basic bag for everyday use, check out this Palette White Cross-Body. At only $65, it’s a total steal!
Thanks to one of my friends, I now have something else to obsess over – The Cambridge Satchel Company. Basically, they have some pretty sweet basic satchels, which is perfect, as I’m all about the basics. They have their classics collection, a backpack collection, a designer collection, and tons more all on their site. Aside from how cute these bags are, you can also have yours personally embossed with your initials, or anything else that you wish! Pretty sweet, right?
My favorite, which comes as no surprise, is the yellow pastel bag. It’s cute and fun, but can definitely be used in the fall and winter, as it’s not a total summery bag, you know what I mean? But, I think I would have to go with the brown classic satchel — I have this love for bags and accessories that can be paired with anything. Versatility always wins for me.
Which Cambridge satchel is your favorite?
The Fluoro satchel comes in sizes 11”, 13”, 14”, and 15” and retails at $136. Throw this bag on with a little black dress for a pop of color!
The Classic satchel is available in sizes 11”, 13”, 14”, and 15” and retails at $96. Pair this with some classic dark skinnies and a white tee.
The Pastel satchel is available in sizes 11”, 13”, and 14” and retails at $136. Transition this bag from day to night with additional accessories and daring eye color.
I have to say fall is my favorite season in terms of fashion and my own personal wardrobe. The weather is the perfect combination of cool and warm, allowing all fashionistas to dress how they please without much concern with the temperature. One of my favorite splurges before the fall every year has to be a new tote.
Tote bags are the most practical and stylish of all handbags in my opinion. They are sleek and polished, all while letting you bring around your necessities, plus more. As a student, I look for totes that I am able to fit my laptop and books in. However, I also look for bags that will double as a work bag that I can fit a lunch and some water in. It hasn’t always been easy, but every year I seem to come out with a tote bag I like more and more.
Whether it is back-to-school or just another fall at the office for you, there are a variety of chic totes out there calling your name. Take a look at some of my favorites below.
I currently own the Michael Kors Hamilton bag pictured below (only without the studs) and I absolutely LOVE it. Though you could probably say I’m a bit partial after working there for a year, I promise that bag, or any of the bags below, will not let you down.
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bloomingdale’s. All opinions are 100% mine.
My sad attempt at designing the next Rebecca Minkoff tote
Every time I watch “Project Runway,” I sigh at the thought of how fun it must be to design your own items. Of course, that is one option I just didn’t have…until now. Thankfully, Bloomingdale’s and famed handbag designer Rebecca Minkoff are giving all aspiring designers the chance to show off their creativity and win big in the process with a design-your-own-tote contest.
Enter theTote-ally Green design contest from now through April 25 by creating an image on a chic, reusable tote bag, and have it made…literally! The grand prize winner will get the honor of their design being produced by Rebecca Minkoff and sold exclusively at Bloomingdales.com. And did we mention the $2,000 Bloomingdale’s gift card prize? Yeah, there’s that too.
While I’m sure we’ll all be crossing our fingers (and toes) for the grand prize, there are other great prizes as well. The second place winner will receive a $1,000 Bloomingdale’s gift card (this prize is chosen by the most votes, so be sure to spread the word and share your design with friends!). Also, one lucky winner will be chosen every day based on the judges’ favorite submissions to receive a $100 Bloomingdale’s gift card.
When a trend is born from a Chanel classic, you know it’s not only going to be beyond chic, but it’s bound to be inherently timeless, too. This season, the iconic label’s most recognized piece, the chain link purse, inspired almost every designer (from Fendi to Forever 21) to create their own masterpieces with both dramatic and/or subtle differences from the original infamous bag. Alas! The house of Chanel hanging on our shoulders.
The most dramatic interpretations have come in the form of gigantic color-blocked leather bags with oversized chain link straps. Whatever tone, texture, shape or shade tickles your fancy, the chain link tote is the perfect alternative to your boring company logo satchel or nylon gym duffle. If you’re worried the oversized links are a bit too much shoulder shimmer, try a bag with fabric braided through the chain for a tamer look.
At night, the standard lengthy chain link purse is the perfect accoutrement to your sexy mini dress or blouse and high-waisted skirt. While swinging it over one shoulder the traditional way works just fine, don’t be afraid to drape it diagonally across your body — the chain doubling as your purse strap and a fantastic piece of jewelry. Hint: To get the most evening looks from your links, choose a purse with a fold over front so you can wear it the chain long or wrap it around the flap for a shorter, more conservative shoulder bag.
