How to Get Taylor Swift Waves

Anne shares how to get Taylor Swift waves using the Bed Head S-Waver. Product sent for review purposes, but opinions are all Anne’s own.

Whether you love her hit singles or are just fascinated with her desperation-filled love life (like I am), Taylor Swift certainly knows how to capture attention.  When it comes to her looks, I’ve always found that one of Taylor Swift’s most defining features is her hair style.

While Ms. Swift is currently rocking a straight ‘do with bangs, I’ve always loved the classic, soft waves that she sported for a while earlier in her career.  Until now, I thought the only way to mimic those waves was to create loose braids with wet hair and let them dry (but who has time for that?).  But then along came the Bed Head S-Waver.

Available at Ulta and other major retailers for $34.99, the Bed Head “Makin’ Waves” Tourmaline Ceramic S-Waver (model BH330) makes it incredibly easy to create waves that Taylor Swift would envy.  Instead of making your typical spiral waves like you would with a conical curling iron (say that five times fast), this wavy-looking flat iron creates “S” waves like you see in the ocean.

Do you think Taylor Swift would be jealous enough of my waves to write a song about them?

With tourmaline ceramic barrel slates, the S-Waver works somewhat like a flat iron in that you grab a section of hair and clamp down to make the “S” wave.  But unlike a flat iron, you don’t pull it through your hair — you simply clamp down, lift, and clamp again on the same section of hair below where the “S” left off. Simply start with a two-inch-wide section, clamp your way down the strand and begin again on the next section until your entire head is filled with lush waves.

Pro Tip:  To make sure you don’t get an over-sized ’80s crimped look, start your waves about four to five inches down on the side of your head, and stagger where you start with each section, so the waves don’t all blend into each other.

The Bed Head S-Waver makes it a snap to get Taylor Swift’s soft waves.

What do you think of “S” waves? Do you like them as much as spiral waves?

The Bald and the Beautiful: Taylor Swift

After winning four Grammy Awards last night, Taylor Swift certainly has something to celebrate about. Now known as the youngest performer to win Album of the Year, to all of Taylor Swift’s fans, the young country songstress is equally known for her flowing, wavy, golden locks.  But would she still win their hearts over if she got a little too rowdy at the after party and decided to lop them all off?
